Every HCPSS school has at least one staff member who serves as a Rainbow Representative, who works to create a more welcoming community for LGBTQIA+ students, provide instructional support for educators, and ensure their school is an ally and advocate for LGBTQIA+ students, staff and families.

HCPSS does not provide supervision or security personnel for after-prom events. The sponsoring organization is responsible for enforcement of guidelines, public laws, etc.
Sponsoring organization officials additionally are responsible for signing all contracts for facilities, supplies, services, etc.
In acknowledgement of the important role that after-prom activities play in providing a safe and substance-free environment for students, HCPSS will waive all building usage, HVAC, and custodial fees for after-prom events held at the school.
Yes, after-prom events may be booked using the Online Use of Facilities Request.
Please note that Howard County Board of Education Policy 10020 Use of School Facilities must be followed for all events on school grounds.
Additionally, compliance with the Howard County Fire Code is required during all events.
The Use of School Facilities Office provides for the equitable and prudent use of public school facilities by community groups and agencies. The office serves as a liaison between the HCPSS and all groups requesting the use of HCPSS facilities. In addition, the Use of School Facilities Office facilitates the leasing, operation and management of discontinued schools and surplus space.

Conferences will be held Monday, Nov. 22-Wednesday, Nov. 24. Conference sign up opens at 8:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 8 via HCPSS Synergy. Parents/guardians must log in with their own credentials. Please check to be sure you are not logged in as your child.
