Where can I find Board of Education policies?
The Board of Education sets local education policy consistent with state and federal laws governing public education. At the direction of the Board, the Superintendent and the school system administrative staff develop policies and administrative procedures to support policy decisions.

Where can I find supply lists for the 2021-2022 school year?
Elementary and middle schools will post supply lists to their respective website, and will share with families via email. Those lists also are posted on the HCPSS website as they become available.
Please note that high schools do not have general supply lists, as classes may have unique requirements. High school teachers will inform students of any necessary supplies at the start of the school year.
What are the school start times for the 2021-2022 school year?
For the 2021-2022 school year, start times revert back to the pre-COVID times. All school start and end times can be found on the HCPSS website and on each school website.
HCPSS plans to study start times and secondary scheduling options for the 2022-2023 school year, with special consideration for the possibility of a later high school start time.
What documents do I need to present to the school for student reassignment?

This digital option is a one-year solution designed to help bridge younger students back to normalized, in-person instruction as HCPSS moves beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

What happens if I am living with a person who is the deed or lease holder, but I am not on the deed/lease?
Guest families residing with host families may establish residency through the completion of the Multiple Family Disclosure form. This paperwork is completed by the Pupil Personnel Worker assigned to the school.

No. A family must reside in Howard County, Maryland in order to enroll in HCPSS.
