Students may only earn credit for assignments due to an excused absence. Students may be excused from class or school only for reasons as specified in the Code of Maryland Regulations, 13A.08.01.02, 13A.08.01.03, 13A.08.01.06 and l3AA.10.01.04(A-B).
No. Once enrolled, students may not switch course sections. If students are in the in-person section, they may not attend a virtual course section. If they are in a virtual section, they may not attend in-person instruction.
Evening School classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Course Schedules outline the times when students are expected to participate in daily in-person or virtual classes. Each schedule is specific to the instructional method for the course.
Students may withdraw until the close of business up to the first Friday after courses begin during any session and receive a full refund. Students withdrawing after the first Friday after courses begin during any session, and up to the third Friday will receive a partial refund (the amount of payment less the greater of a 20% administrative fee or $50.00).
Once a student is enrolled in a course, the Financial Assistance Committee will review the completed applications for those students and notify parents/guardians if additional tuition reduction will be applied. If the required documentation is not included, or the student is not enrolled, the financial assistance application will not be reviewed.

Yes. Financial Assistance is available for current HCPSS students. In addition to meals, students participating in the FARMs program qualify for a wide range of resources and discounts, including testing fees, tuition, internet and more.
Parents will be notified by email when a student has been enrolled in a course. Parents must then remit full tuition in order to enroll in and earn credit.
Course cost varies by the number of credits for the course. Half-credit (0.5) courses cost $325 per course, full-credit (1.0) courses cost $550 per course and two-credit (2.0) courses cost $800 per course. Credit recovery courses do not have a tuition cost.
Prior to enrollment, a parent/guardian or school counselor may submit a registration withdrawal request online through the Synergy Parent Portal on the HCPSS Connect web page (https://www.hcpss.org/connect/).
