My child was redistricted. Can I request reassignment so my child can remain in the current school?

Redistricting is a Board of Education decision, and all students are required to attend their newly assigned school. A redistricting decision does not constitute a unique hardship for reassignment.

Per Policy 9000, exceptions to redistricted assignments are only made for students who meet specific criteria involving:

  • An IEP or Section 504 Plan.
  • At least one parent who is currently active duty military personnel.

The Office of Pupil Personnel Services will verify if a student meets these specific criteria.
