Locally rated capacities (LRCs) are school capacities calculated based on the Board’s approved methodologies.
State Rated Capacities (SRCs) are calculated based on a minimum square footage of 550 per elementary teaching station and 500 square feet per middle or high school teaching station. The formula to calculate SRC is based on the number of rooms used for a specific purpose (Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Grade 1-5, Special Education, Grade 6-12 [General], Career and Technology, Alternative Education) multiplied by the number of seats for that program and then summed.
Relocatable classrooms are excluded from both calculations.
