How were individuals selected to participate on the HCPSS Recovery Stakeholder Group?

On June 10, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) released an updated Recovery Plan which mandated each school district establish a Recovery Plan Stakeholder Group that is representative of their schools and community to gather input and recommendations on the reopening plan. HCPSS leadership and the Board of Education collaborated to identify participating members to ensure there is a diverse representation of stakeholder perspectives and experience. The group mobilized quickly to ensure maximum time to review community input and make recommendations in advance of July 9, 2020 when the initial draft plan will be presented to the Board of Education during their public meeting.

To keep this group at a size that can be manageable and productive, not all individuals who requested to participate were able to be included. However, all stakeholders are encouraged to provide input by completing surveys that are open through July 1, and by emailing fall-input@hcpss.org to help guide the decisions being made for the fall. HCPSS is also leveraging all standing Superintendent advisory groups to solicit feedback.
