How will I be able to participate meaningfully regarding my child’s IEP services during this time?

Note: This help topic is out of date and currently archived.

Parents are provided with a Individualized Continuity of Learning Plan (COL) proposal and have an opportunity to provide input and affirm their choice for discussing their child’s services during this closure. Parents can engage in virtual IEP conferences or (formal) IEP meetings with teachers. During these meetings, it is important for parents to provide input about the support their child will need to participate in the Individualized COL plan developed by HCPSS. All input will be considered and staff will make every effort to address each child’s needs to the greatest extent possible. Parents may also request an IEP team meeting at any time to address concerns about the implementation or effectiveness of the COL plan. Ongoing communication about every student’s plan is expected and welcomed.
