School administrators identify a safe location on the school campus for students to gather (e.g., gym, auditorium, cafeteria, stadium, front of building, parking lot). School staff supervise the walkout and ensure students safely return to their classroom/assigned area following the walkout.
The HCPSS Division of Schools collaborate with the offices of Safety and Security; General Counsel; Communications; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Student Well-Being to develop and share guidelines to support schools in proactively responding to the needs of students, staff and community during a student walkout.
