Parents/guardians will have access to their student’s ridership information via the Zum app, which many families already use for bus pickup/drop off information. The Zum app is available for free download on the Apple Store and Google Play.
Parents/guardians can view your child’s ride live, including the location of their bus and its ETA, all within the Zum app. By default, Zum sends in-app notifications to parents. Users may change their preference to enable text notifications by clicking Menu on the Zum app, then Account → Notification preferences → SMS. You can also add an additional contact number to receive SMS. You can find all sent notifications by clicking Notifications from the menu of the Zum app.
Parents/guardians who have never used the Zum app should follow these instructions:
- Download the app
- Log in to your account with the phone number or email address you have listed on your child’s record in Family File in HCPSS Connect
- Verify your access by entering the one-time code sent to your device or email
- Check your notification settings to ensure you’re receiving Zum notifications, if desired, so you’ll know when the bus is approaching and when your child has arrived at school
