There are a number of options for families, in addition to the HCPSS meal distribution.
The Howard County Government launched a food distribution map for Howard County residents seeking food pantries or access to free meals. The map lists locations offering groceries, produce, non-perishables, fresh and frozen meals for students, residents and older adults in need. Listings on the map includes free meals for students provided by Howard County Public School System, meals for older adults provided by the Department of Community Resources and Services, food pantries supported by local churches and communities, and assorted groceries and produce from Community Organizations Active in Disaster.
The Howard County Library System compiled and shared on its website information about free and subsidized food in Howard County. Visit the HCLS website for more.
The Community Action Council of Howard County sponsors a Food Bank and supports 14 food pantries that support families in need of emergency food assistance. More information about food assistance and a list of the food pantries remaining open during the COVID-19 crisis is available on the CAC website.
Grab & Go HoCo is a local volunteer organization that delivers HCPSS Grab-N-Go meals to families who find it difficult to access any of the meal distribution locations. Families can request meal delivery at https://grabandgohoco.com, or visit the site to volunteer to deliver meals.
