How will students return HCPSS property during the 2019-2020 school closures?

Note: This help topic is out of date and currently archived.

Students who will attend an HCPSS school for the 2020-2021 school year and who currently are in possession of school system property—including Chromebooks, band and orchestra instruments, textbooks, media books, or other materials and supplies belonging to HCPSS—should keep the materials until school resumes in school buildings.

Once school resumes in school buildings, students will bring their school system property to whatever school they attend for collection and redistribution.

High school seniors received dates/times and details from their school on returning borrowed HCPSS Chromebooks. Seniors who borrowed Chromebooks may continue to use them for any remaining school work over the summer, and will be provided with their diploma once the device has been returned.

Students leaving HCPSS after the current 2019-2020 school year will need to return a borrowed Chromebook and/or hotspot either within one week of the student’s last day of enrollment and completion of coursework. Students will need to bring the device to the HCPSS Logistics Center (9645 Gerwig Lane, Columbia, MD 21046). The building will be open weekdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., through Friday, July 10, with the exception of being closed Friday, July 3. Beginning Monday, July 13, the Logistics Center will be open weekdays from 9-11 a.m.

Please note!

  • The entry door is on the right side of the building.
  • All people entering the Logistics Center must wear a mask.
  • Anyone not feeling well, should not come to the Logistics Center and should email devicedeployment@hcpss.org to make alternative arrangements.
