Governor Larry Hogan allocated one million testing kits for the state of Maryland. In an effort to help ensure the health & safety of school-based staff and students, HCPSS in April 2021 launched a COVID-19 Testing Program to provide another layer of health and safety protections. By administering tests to students and school-based staff who develop symptoms in schools, HCPSS health professionals are able to proactively monitor and take action upon symptomatic individuals and those identified as close contacts to help to ensure the health and safety of schools.

The HCPSS COVID-19 testing program that began in the spring of 2021, will continue through the 2021-2022 school year.
