What is HCPSS’ plan for continuity of learning during the COVID-related school closures?

Note: This help topic is out of date and currently archived.

HCPSS staff designed a Continuity of Learning model that will engage students in teacher-supported and teacher-directed distance learning. The plan involves three phases:

  • Phase 1 provided families with resources to use at home with their children.
  • Phase 2 focused on providing professional development for all instructional staff, including learning how to set up their online classrooms, re-engaging students and families, clarifying expectations for students, and ensuring students have the supports and resources they need to succeed.
  • Phase 3 begins distance learning. High school students began distance learning on April 14, followed by middle and elementary school students on April 20. Phase 3 will continue through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
