Are there any automatic exemptions for specific groups of students? (Español | 中文 | 한국어)

Español | 中文 | 한국어

  • Yes. Students who will be in 12th grade in school year 2026-2027 are exempt from redistricting. They can finish the remainder of their high school term at their current school.
  • The Board may consider exemptions for additional cohorts or groups of students to continue attending their current schools. At this time, the Board has not yet addressed any of these situations but may consider or make decisions on exemptions at any time during the process. Considerations include, but are not limited to, the following situations:
    • Rising fifth, eighth, and eleventh grade students.
    • Students who have been reassigned once already at their school level or once within the last five years provided that they remained registered at the same address during that time.
    • Students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plan.
    • Students who have at least one parent who is currently active duty military personnel.
