Why is HCPSS using asynchronous days for 2022-2023?

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) opened a pathway for local school systems to repurpose up to three inclement weather days as asynchronous instruction days for the 2022–2023 school year.

The HCPSS vision for the asynchronous instructional day includes facilitating engaging and authentic learning experiences provided through asynchronous instruction while maintaining instructional momentum during inclement weather days and preserving the HCPSS academic calendar.
